All of you who came to this year’s “Happy April” reunion will be aware that we decided to return to Bournemouth for our 20th reunion in 2013. So once again it’s time to firm up our provisional booking with the number and type of rooms we require and, of course, a deposit.
For those of you who haven’t been here before this 54-bedroomed hotel is in a quiet road, has no sea views but it does have plenty of “free car parking”, reasonable quality rooms, good food, fair bar prices and it’s only half a mile from Bournemouth Pier and the centre of this splendid town and sea front. I know from experience it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to find anywhere else in this town at this tariff.
So I’m pleased and confident to recommend it to you once again as I seriously believe this has proved to be our best and most popular venue over the past 19 years. Hopefully 2013 will see a return of the wonderful weather we had before 2012.
What’s it going to cost? ONLY £2 more than this year, at £51 per person per night, for dinner, bed and breakfast, regardless of single or double room occupancy. We will all dine together on both Friday and Saturday nights in the Sherlock Holmes Lounge. Morris Benton has once again offered to entertain us on Saturday. So I am convinced it is looking really good for our 20th reunion in April 2013. BUT EVEN BETTER STILL – If you would like to extend your stay in beautiful Bournemouth or arrive earlier then additional nights will only cost you a measly £38 per person per night for dinner, bed and breakfast. How’s that for brilliant value?
As usual, I now need quickly to get some idea of the likely level of support for the next event. So can you please complete the attached booking form ASAP together with a non-refundable deposit cheque of £20 for a double or £10 for a single room booking. Cheques made payable to J.G.Potts
Please be assured that the most important thing you can do to help me is to REPLY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE and definitely before 13th October even if, unfortunately, it’s only a regret.
The other big help is to start to tell others about our 2013 proposal NOW!! In particular, any of our former colleagues who have never been to a FAB reunion party weekend. Our problem is that we are an ageing group with associated health and mobility problems, which are affecting our numbers. So, also please feel free to include any “family and friends” who you think might like to be with us for a break in Bournemouth and benefit from these prices. They are most welcome to join us too. The more the merrier! I have sent this booking form to all the people on the attached list.
Hope to see you in Bournemouth again next year.
Kind Regards
John Potts
